History and Development of Server Flags

The word “server” within the restaurant and hospitality industry, (tableside service otherwise known as “service industry”) is actually a generic or “slang” nongenre term commonly used to refer to a waitress, waiter and/or bartender. Thus referring to someone that “serves” the food, drink, etc.


The word “flags” within the restaurant and hospitality industry, (tableside flagging otherwise known as “signaling”) when a customer needs something such as a beverage or food, check etc. A customer may raise their hand, whistle, and wave or otherwise known as, “flag” a server/waitress. In this usage, the term flags is used as an action rather than a subject thus relating the concept of “flags” in the use Sever Flags. A customer flags their server.


The goods described in this application, “server flags” is a device used to flag a server in the restaurant and hospitality industry, restaurant, bar, event, etc. without having to make distracting noise or motions. The server flags are simply self-clipping devices which attach to a tale for the purpose of “flagging” a “server” primarily to catch the attention of the server in the customer’s need for something may it be related to “service” of food, drink, check, etc.
